ALBANY, Ore. — Years ago, when Kent and Cathy Wilson, owners of At Home Furniture & Mattress here, planned to double their showroom from 20,000 to 40,000 square feet, their idea was panned.
They followed their instincts, however, and the decision proved correct as Albany’s population has grown over the years.
“At that time, everybody who was anybody in Albany said don’t do it. At that time, there were probably only 35,000 people in Albany,” General Manager Tim McDonald told Furniture Today. “Now it’s 50,000 or 60,000. Now here we are, 26 years later with a growing, thriving business.”…
