Emanuel Nine memorial nears completion on Charleston church grounds

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A memorial honoring the nine people killed at Mother Emanuel AME Church is nearing completion on the west side of the church.

The centerpieces of the memorial space are giant marble fellowship benches that look like angel wings. The 80-foot and 60-foot scooped marble benches traveled from a mountain in Vermont.
