PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Woodburn School District Board declared an impasse in contract negotiations with the teachers’ union Tuesday night, in a move the union has called “premature.”
This comes after more than 15 months of bargaining and multiple mediation sessions with the union, the Woodburn Education Association (WEA).

According to a statement from the district, both parties managed to reach tentative agreements on the majority of articles in the contract. However, the unresolved issues centered around compensation, workload and assignments.
