The Lua Project performs on East Campus as part of free summer concert series

Duke Arts returns this summer with its free campus concert series Arts on East. From May 27 to June 24, the East Campus lawn behind Richard White Lecture Hall will feature performances by various local artists.

Last Wednesday, Arts on East welcomed the Lua Project for the series’ second installment. A family ensemble whose music blends Latin American and Appalachian cultures, lead singer Estela Díaz Knott accurately describes the band as “Mexilachian.” The concert was curated by Assistant Professor of Music Sophia Enriquez, “whose work explores the intersections of Latino and Appalachian music, migration and regional culture.”
