BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man who shot an acquaintance eight times and left him for dead in a field in the east Bakersfield area was sentenced Wednesday to a life term in prison. The victim survived.
Rogelio Alvarez, 61, received 32 years to life, prosecutors said. He was found guilty last year of attempted murder and assault with a gun, and a misdemeanor count of obtaining money by false pretenses.
