MADISON, Wis. — Madison Fire Department crews responded to more than 60 calls for service stemming from Wednesday’s severe weather, a department spokesperson said.
The majority of the calls came between 1:50-4 p.m. and were related to downed power lines. A spokesperson said that, at one point, all of the department’s rigs were assigned to calls at the same time throughout the city.
Crews responded to the 1200 block of Vilas Ave. at around 2 p.m. A ‘very large tree’ was found hanging on a power line and a car had been partially crushed. Nobody was inside the crushed vehicle. Power lines were knocked down for multiple homes…
