Collin County Summer Questions: Looking back on some of the area’s top athletics programs, realignment ramifications and more

The end of one chapter gives way to the start of another, and such is the case as teams around the state begin preparations for the 2026-27 school year.

The UIL’s biennial realignment shuffled the deck for a number of high schools throughout Collin County, with Celina, Prosper Walnut Grove and Prosper Richland all moving up a classification, as well as a change of scenery foe Plano ISD.

In my particular coverage area, that means plenty to look forward to in advance of another year of high school sports in Plano, Allen, McKinney, Celina and Prosper…
