Sea-Tac’s New C Concourse Expansion is Now Open

The new addition to the C Concourse at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is opening today, capping off a major improvement project under the Upgrade SEA umbrella and finishing just ahead of World Cup soccer games in Seattle that are expected to draw thousands of visitors.

The redesigned C Concourse expansion, which includes 145,000 square feet of new space and costs almost $400 million, is located between the C and D Concourses. Four new floors rise from the former footprint of nonpublic space that primarily housed offices and storage.

The open atrium that was created has 10 new dining and retail sites, six new SEA Sparks Incubator Program retail kiosks for limited-term small- and micro-businesses, the “Tree at C” and grand stairs, an interfaith prayer and meditation room, a sensory room, nursing room, performance area, and an airfield observation area called “The Lookout at C,” according to a news release from the Port of Seattle, which operates the airport…
