LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Amontae Flynn, the suspect in a February shooting in Lexington that led to the death of Johnathon Hunt, is awaiting a court status hearing after waiving his arraignment in connection with a May indictment.

The April 21 indictment alleges that on Feb. 5, Flynn, who turned 19 years old on Wednesday, allegedly shot Hunt in a parking lot on the 1500 block of Versailles Road.

Court documents further allege that Flynn was carrying out a robbery on Feb. 5, which led up to the shooting. The grand jury that indicted him noted that Hunt was not a participant in the crime.
Following the indictment, records indicate Flynn waived his May 1 arraignment hearing and entered a plea of not guilty. A status hearing in the case is set for 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 7.
