Two people were rescued, and one taken to the hospital, after their kayak overturned at Silver Lake Regional Park in Haymarket during Thursday’s thunderstorms.
First responders were called to the park at 16198 Silver Lake Road at 7:35 p.m. for two individuals in the water after their inflatable kayak capsized, Prince William County police Sgt. Erin Noble said.
The fire department conducted a swift-water rescue, and one of the kayakers was taken to a nearby hospital, Prince William County fire and rescue Assistant Chief Matt Smolsky said. He said the victim was a man and declined to comment on his condition…
