Search crews to scour Poway trails for missing hiker

POWAY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Search crews will be out this weekend in Poway as authorities continue looking for a missing hiker who is believed to have disappeared along local trails.

Investigators with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Division, along with volunteer search and rescue teams, are scheduled to conduct search operations Saturday in and around the trails at Lake Poway.

Multi-vehicle crash snarls traffic on SR-52 in Kearny Mesa area

Officials say the hiker is believed to have gone missing while out on the trails, having never returned home or contacted family thereafter.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about the missing person, including when they were last seen or their name.
