Last month, 22 young people were arrested in Tampa after trying to take over a park. A 16-year-old boy shot a 17-year-old at a gathering of hundreds of teens in Clearwater Beach in May. In February, five people were shot at a takeover event in Jacksonville Beach.
Local law enforcement departments have vowed to fight against the growing “teen takeover” phenomenon, and now the state of Florida is adding some muscle.
