Miami’s biggest 2026 stars get major preseason All-America recognition

Wide receiver Malachi Toney, running back Mark Fletcher Jr. and defensive lineman Ahmad Moten were all named preseason All-Americans by Phil Steele, giving the Hurricanes recognition at three different position groups before a season that will come with playoff expectations in Coral Gables.

Toney was named a first-team wide receiver, while Fletcher and Moten were both third-team selections.

Malachi Toney has the chance to put together a truly special season in 2026

The sophomore wide receiver was listed as a first-team All-American after one of the best freshman seasons Miami has ever seen. He led the nation and set a Miami single-season record with 109 receptions, ranked fifth nationally and led the ACC with 1,211 receiving yards, and finished with a team-high 10 receiving touchdowns. He also earned 2025 ACC Rookie of the Year, ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year, FWAA Offensive Freshman of the Year and a second-team Associated Press All-American.

The senior running back was named a third-team All-American by Steele after rushing for 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns on 216 carries last season. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry, added 17 catches for 140 yards and two receiving touchdowns, and earned third-team All-ACC honors…
