CANTON, Miss. (WLBT) – For the first time in nearly 20 years, the Canton Spirituals will perform on the Historic Canton Square as part of the return of the Canton Music Fest.
Ashford Sanders, a local artist and organizer of the event, said bringing the legendary gospel group home was his primary goal.
“I wanted to do it only if I could get the Canton Spirituals back to the city of Canton,” Sanders said. “We were able to make that happen. It’s been 20 years since the legendary Canton Spirituals have been on the Historic Canton Square.”…
