MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A much wetter weather pattern is setting up across the Gulf Coast this week, bringing daily chances for showers and thunderstorms, periods of heavy rainfall, and the potential for localized flash flooding. The increase in rain chances is being driven by a surge of deep tropical moisture moving north from the Gulf, along with a weak frontal boundary that will help focus rounds of showers and storms through the middle of the week. While it certainly won’t rain all day every day, expect more clouds, more humidity, and more interruptions from rain than we’ve seen recently. The beach forecast is also turning rougher, with an increasing rip current risk through midweek.
