Judge hears speedy trial arguments in Chickasaw murder case

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A judge heard arguments prosecutors are violating a Chickasaw man’s right to a speedy trial.

JT Williams is facing murder charges in the death of Willie Cook from last October.

The attorney for Williams notes a grand jury failed to act since a judge found in December prosecutors have enough evidence to present the case. Defense attorneys argue Williams has suffered “prolonged and oppressive pre-trial incarceration.”…
