A meet-up with an online acquaintance turned deadly in Ohio, as 18-year-old Angel and her boyfriend got into a planned robbery setup. The couple drove to 2550 Greenway Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday, June 6, to meet an acquaintance from Snapchat. However, the acquaintance turned out to be an armed robber. Angel, who was 26 weeks pregnant at the time, suffered a gunshot wound to her chest.
The bullet missed the baby “by the grace of god.”
When the couple reached their destination, a man in all black clothes approached them and pulled a gun to the 19-year-old boyfriend’s head. The armed man began to demand money from the two, per 13ABC, at gunpoint, as the boyfriend engaged in a physical fight with the suspect to get the gun off the robber’s hands.
During the altercation, the gunman pulled the trigger and the bullet hit Angel’s left arm. The proximity between the perpetrator and the victim led the bullet through her arm to her chest. However, it missed the baby.
“The guy pulls the trigger and it hits my daughter in the left arm and goes through her side. Right above the baby. By the grace of God misses the baby but lodges in her chest,” Angel’s mother said, per the outlet.
Angel suffered severe injuries from the incident.
