County officials clashed Tuesday over a proposal to evaluate the costs behind more extensive renovations to the downtown jail.
Commissioners disagreed over whether to allow hired consultants to assess the price tag behind a direct-supervision model for renovating the county’s jail, ultimately tabling the proposal indefinitely.
“We’re bantering back and forth,” said Commissioner Pete Gerken, who did not support the assessment and voted to table an amendment vote. “We should have broader budget discussions. We’re not prepared to do that right now.”…
