PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — In an official proclamation read before the city council on Monday night, Battle Ground Mayor Eric Overholser recognized the city’s traditional, nuclear families.
The proclamation is one of several read in recent weeks that have drawn criticism and protests.
“The family home is the first and principal school, where children learn the essential virtues of honesty, hard work, generosity/faith in God,” it said.
