Wilson Downing Road to close for construction starting July 6

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A stretch of Wilson Downing Road will close around the clock starting July 6 while construction is underway.

The closure will affect the roadway between Tates Creek Road and Camelot Drive. City leaders say the project includes three major upgrades designed to ease congestion and make the roadway safer for drivers and pedestrians.

“Anybody who’s driven through that intersection, on that roadway during rush hour… it backs all the way up from Tates Creek Road all the way to Belleau Wood and Walden Drive,” said Mark Fiebes, manager of design and construction for Lexington’s division of engineering.
