North Port High School to install vape detection system

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – North Port High School will install a vape detection system as part of a pilot program aimed at addressing vaping on campus.

The Sarasota County school board unanimously approved the program. It will include 29 cameras and 63 sensors placed around the campus.

School Board Chair Bridget Ziegler said the initiative is about safety and comfort for students. Some students are afraid to go to the restroom because of vaping issues at some schools, she said…
