BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Birmingham, meet your newest craving on 20th Street South.

‘Curry Up Now’ has officially landed near UAB at 450 20th St. S., bringing Bay Area-born Indian street food, with a Birmingham-only twist, right into the neighborhood.

The chain started in 2009 as a food truck in the San Francisco Bay Area, and founder Akash Kapoor says the “street food” name is literal: food made to be eaten on the move, bold, fast, and fun. But don’t confuse quick with basic. Curry Up Now isn’t going for a 15-page menu where everything blurs together.. it’s a curated lineup of crowd favorites, built for first-timers and regulars alike.

And Birmingham gets something no other city does…
