JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – For some farmers in the state’s agriculture community, all this rain could be too much of a good thing. It can lead to serious damage to crops and produce.
The latest Mississippi drought map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows conditions have improved for much of our area since last week — but much of the state remains abnormally dry. More rain could help ease that.
However, farmers like Brenda Langham who sell fresh produce in the Jackson area warn that prolonged rain and limited sunlight can do more harm than good when it comes to their crops…
