This weekend, the Verona Area Community Theater presents the classic family musical “Annie,” opening June 19 at the Badger Ridge Middle School Performing Arts Center (300 Richard Street).
“Annie,” which debuted on Broadway in 1977, follows the story of an optimistic young orphan determined to find her parents and a better future during the Great Depression. It has become a cultural touchstone, inspiring generations with its message of perseverance, hope, and the power of believing that tomorrow can be better than today.
