Pleasant Hill Goshen crews stop hayfield fire in 10 minutes

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. – Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire & Rescue put out a fire that started in a hayfield on Mathews Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived around 1:30 p.m. on June 17 and found several hay bales burning after they caught fire during a haying operation. Crews worked with the field workers to stop the flames and put out hot spots. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes, stopping it from spreading into nearby grass and vegetation.

The fire burned roughly one-tenth of an acre. Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire & Rescue brought an engine, brush unit, water tender and chief officer to the scene. Guistina Land Management sent a brush unit, and the Eastern Lane Office of the Oregon Department of Forestry also responded…
