Child found in middle of the road after escaping North Charleston daycare

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A child who escaped her daycare Thursday morning was returned to her mother after she was found in the middle of a nearby road.

A driver who saw the child pulled over and called for help, according to a police report.

North Charleston police were dispatched to Dorchester Road and Great Oak Drive in reference to the young girl in the road.

Because a daycare was nearby, officers went to the facility, which said they were, in fact, missing a child…
