Data center rezoning vote postponed as city works to amend zoning ordinance

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A rezoning request that could clear the way for Jackson’s first data center is being postponed at least until the city gets new rules regulating the facilities in place.

On Tuesday, city officials confirmed that the Planning Board would not take up a request from Saxum Investment Group LLC to rezone 190 acres in Northwest Jackson to I-1 light industrial to make the property more attractive for a potential data center.
