SWEET HOME, Ore. – A man with an outstanding warrant was caught after hiding in a creek following a foot chase that ended with a police dog finding him submerged in the water, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan, deputies arrested David Fox, 57, of Sweet Home, on the night of June 17 after 9 p.m. near the 25000 block of Brush Creek Road, south of Sweet Home. Deputies had received a tip from an anonymous source about Fox’s location and set up surveillance in the area before 9 p.m. Fox had warrants related to a parole violation. When deputies moved in on Fox and his car, he ran from the location.
Deputies lost sight of Fox and surrounded the area as drones were deployed. Several deputies and K9 Juice searched for Fox and contained the area where he could run, preventing him from going far. With help from K9 Juice, Fox was found hiding submerged in a nearby creek where he was taken into custody…
