At least one killed in solo-vehicle crash on Highway 58, sparks fire on hillside

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — At least one person is dead after a crash on Highway 58 near General Beale Road Friday afternoon. The crash ignited a fire with smoke visible for miles.

The California Highway Patrol said on Friday, June 19, 2026, at around 4:30 p.m., there was a report of a solo-vehicle crash on westbound Highway 58, east of General Beale Road.
