StormTeam 3: Scattered storms before a hot & humid weekend for Father’s Day

While yesterday’s storm activity has helped stabilize the air across the Coastal Empire & Lowcountry overnight, our overall severe weather risk this morning has decreased. However, isolated storms could become strong and severe, especially south of I-16. The main impact will be damaging wind gusts of 60mph or greater with penny-sized hail.

Behind the remnants of Arthur, a cold front begins to slowly track south. This will bring us scattered storms at times through mid-afternoon. Storms could pack a punch with strong gusty wind. Thanks to our morning rain showers, temperatures will remain below 90° for most of the area away from the coastline. It remains muggy through this evening…
