Pile-up crash on I-69 southbound near Markle seriously injures 2

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) — According to a traffic alert, a multi-vehicle crash caused the southbound lanes of I-69 near mile marker 283 to be blocked off.

All southbound lanes in the area of the crash have since reopened as of 10 a.m. Saturday.

According to a press release from the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at around 5:25 a.m. Saturday, an SUV struck a trailer, spun out, and was then struck head-on by another car.

Upon investigation, police determined that the SUV was traveling south on I-69 near mile marker 283 when it hit the trailer of a Walmart semi-truck. The SUV spun out of control and stopped in the right travel lane facing north…
