A woman died after being struck by a pickup truck Sunday night in east Bakersfield, police said.
Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department were dispatched at about 9:15 p.m. June 21, 2026, to the 600 block of Brundage Lane for a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision. Police found an adult female pedestrian with major injuries. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation found an adult male was driving a pickup on Brundage Lane when the pedestrian entered the roadway within an unmarked crosswalk, leading to the collision. Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation…
