- Katy Perry snubs famous exes before sweet nod to Justin Trudeau in cheeky onstage moment (foxnews.com)
At a recent concert in Spain, Katy Perry didn’t hold back as she playfully took aim at some of her high-profile exes, including Orlando Bloom, John Mayer, and Diplo. Performing at the O Son do Camiño festival in Santiago de Compostela, the 40-year-old pop star used a giant smartphone prop during her hit “Never Really Over” to dramatize rejecting calls from her former partners.
As the phone screen displayed incoming calls, Perry humorously declined Diplo’s call multiple times, visibly avoiding the phone. The DJ, whom she briefly dated in 2014, was previously ranked third in a 2017 “exes performance” list Perry jokingly shared on James Corden’s show.
Next came a call from “JM,” a clear nod to John Mayer, with Perry backing away and refusing to answer. She then wagged her finger at a call from “OB,” representing Orlando Bloom, her former fiancé with whom she shares a daughter. The couple’s on-again, off-again relationship spanned nearly a decade before they parted ways earlier this year.
Wrapping up the theatrical moment, Perry accepted a call from “JPJT”-Justin Pierre James Trudeau-her current boyfriend and former Canadian Prime Minister. The screen featured a Canadian flag and heart emoji as Perry eagerly hit “Accept,” much to the delight of the crowd.
Perry and Trudeau’s romance became public last year after they were spotted dining together in Montreal, followed by Trudeau attending one of her sold-out shows. The couple made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Festival this spring, where Perry spoke fondly about how the relationship has grounded her.
“I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life,” Perry told People magazine. “I am very in love. That show was after I met the love of my life, and I felt very anchored by that… to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”
Recently, the pair was seen sharing affectionate moments on a picnic in Santa Barbara, California, ahead of their one-year anniversary, signaling a strong and happy connection. Meanwhile, Perry’s onstage jabs at her exes provided fans with a humorous glimpse into her past relationships as she celebrates new love.
