Woman dies days after colliding with Kern County sheriff’s transport vehicle in alleged DUI crash

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A woman who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and crashing into a Kern County Sheriff’s Office vehicle earlier in June has died, according to officials.

At 1:27 p.m. June 14 — over three days after the crash — Bernice Bravo Manzo, 36, of Bakersfield was pronounced dead at Kern Medical from her injuries, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

Manzo was driving a black sedan westbound on 24th Street at around 2:55 a.m. June 11, the Bakersfield Police Department said.
