Fishing hook incident at Summerville residential pond prompts wildlife concerns

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A neighborhood retention pond in Summerville is at the center of wildlife concerns after a goose was found injured by a fishing hook, prompting calls for change from local animal advocates.

Donna Dorner, a resident and animal advocate in the Lindera Preserve neighborhood, responded after receiving a message about the injured goose.

“I had received a message earlier in the day, so I packed up my gear and went over there and ended up seeing this poor goose lying on the side of the pond,” Dorner said…
