(KRON) — Two men and a teenage boy were killed Monday night after their car went off Highway 9 near Saratoga, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Crash investigators said a 21-year-old Yuba City man was driving eastbound in a 2024 BMW M3 with two passengers, a 27-year-old man from Salem, Oregon, and a 17-year-old boy from San Jose. The driver lost control of the BMW west of Redwood Gulch Road at around 9:36 p.m., CHP said, and the car went off the road and down a steep 300-foot embankment.
A coroner was called to the scene at 10:16 a.m., a CHP incident log shows. The identities of the crash victims were not immediately released.
