Two arrested after drugs and stolen firearms discovered during traffic stop, NCPD

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Two people were arrested Monday after police discovered drugs and stolen firearms during a traffic stop, according to the North Charleston Police Department.

21-year-old Amari Shanay Smith of North Charleston was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a stolen firearm and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Additionally 35-year-old Reginald Lamont Myers Jr. was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and misdemeanor failure to stop for blue lights.

The report on the incident states that police were conducting a patrol in the area of Ashley Phosphate Road at approximately 3:45 p.m. when they observed a vehicle making abrupt lane changes without proper signal. Police attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, however the driver, who was identified as Myers reportedly failed to stop and continued to cross Interstate 26 toward the intersection of Ashley Phosphate Road and Northwoods Boulevard…
