First Alert Forecast: Brief break Tuesday; scattered storms return mid-week

TUESDAY: Rain chances ease Tuesday for a brief reprieve amid partly cloudy skies. Highs climb to the lower to middle 80s. Expect partly clear skies with patchy fog developing again as lows fall back to near 70 by early Wednesday. A few showers and storms could flare prior to sunrise south/west of Memphis.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds return along with the chance for scattered storms as another system approaches the region. A marginal risk is in place for an isolated stronger storm, though flooding may become another issue again with any heavy rains. Amid that scattered storm chance – highs will still top out in the middle 80s. Rain chance taper overnight with lows in the 70s again.

EXTENDED: On and off scattered shower and storm chances continue Thursday as a warm front nudges north. Temperatures back into the upper 80s and eventually toward the 90s heading into the weekend. Looking ahead – a pattern shift into next week will bring hot and dry conditions building across the Southeast as a large area of high pressure expands into early July…
