Teen accused of 2025 Lit Lounge mass shooting faces two new felonies after release on bond

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin teenager accused of shooting four people in a downtown mass shooting in March 2025 was arrested again this month on allegations that he helped carry out an armed robbery — after being released from jail on a separate felony arrest less than two months prior.

Troy Tanksley, 18, was released on a $100,000 bond less than two weeks after being arrested in July 2025 on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated assault mass shooting for allegedly shooting four people inside Lit Lounge on E. Sixth Street, prompting a large response from police, fire and EMS, according to court records.

Since being released and required to wear a GPS ankle monitor related to the mass shooting case, Tanksley has been arrested and charged with two additional felonies from two separate incidents…
