Texas city’s No. 1 burger joint announces first brick-and-mortar restaurant

A viral smash-burger food truck, touted as one of the capital city’s best burger spots, is expanding by opening a new restaurant in Central Texas. JABS announced its first-ever brick-and-mortar location is now in the works for Austin.

Brothers and JABS co-owners, Faseeh and Faraz Vohra, are planning on opening their new outpost later this year in Austin’s South Shore district. This news comes after JABS defended its No. 1 People’s Choice title at Austin Monthly’s annual Burger Bash, winning for two consecutive years in 2025 and 2026.

Earlier this month, JABS also earned the No. 2 Judges’ Choice Award at the Burger Bash and recently earned a No. 31 spot on a list of the World’s 101 Best Burger Places.

“My brother Faseeh and I are inspired by the love we’ve received from the Austin community,” says Faraz Vohra, co-founder of JABS, in a release. “Opening a brick-and-mortar feels like a natural next step – a chance to serve our loyal customers in the South Shore area and reach new ones while planting deeper roots in Austin’s incredible food scene.”…
