LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – As America’s 250th anniversary kicks off in little over a week, folks around Nebraska are eagerly awaiting the time to light fireworks for the holiday, with Thursday marking the first day you can buy them here in the state.
At Davey Fireworks just 16 miles north of Lincoln, owner Curt Schnase and his family are getting ready to sell for their 48th year.
He said each year can be a toss-up, but expects that a combination of higher fuel prices and less traveling will result in some good local fireworks business for customers hosting their own 4th of July celebrations this summer…
