Johnny Doughnuts has quietly slipped into Santana Row, firing up its fifth shop and teeing up a grand opening party this Saturday. The Bay Area-born doughnut maker has taken over an intimate walk-up counter in the high-traffic shopping district, a move that brings roughly 16 new local jobs and a buildout tab of about $210,000 to $240,000. Next on the horizon: a sixth outpost in Napa.

According to the Silicon Valley Business Journal, the Santana Row shop created 16 jobs, cost an estimated $210,000 to $240,000 to build and will get a full public welcome with a grand-opening event this Saturday.

Johnny Doughnuts lists the Santana Row spot as now open daily, with hours running from 7 AM to 8 PM. The company describes the space as an intimate walk-up counter geared toward shoppers looking to grab coffee or something sweet between errands. The new shop joins existing Bay Area locations in San Rafael, San Francisco, Larkspur and Santa Rosa.
