Chattahoochee Valley gears up for America 250 celebrations

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The Chattahoochee Valley is preparing multiple Independence Day events to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, with festivities beginning this weekend and extending through the Fourth of July.

The America 250 Parade in Uptown Columbus will kick off Friday, July 3rd at 6:30 p.m. down First Avenue, ending at Synovus Park. The nighttime parade is hosted by Columbus Parks and Recreation.

Following the parade, a free drone show will light up the sky above Synovus Park. The drones will display scenes including the American flag, the numbers 250 and the bald eagle, according to Tracey Green with Uptown Columbus…
