Pont de Rennes reopens after temporary closure

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Pont de Rennes has reopened to pedestrians after a temporary closure for bridge work, city officials announced Thursday.

The bridge, which spans the Genesee River Gorge from Brown’s Race to Cataract Street, connects the area near the Genesee Brew House to Cataract Street and overlooks High Falls.

The city said the bridge was closed while crews replaced the bridge deck coating. The work is part of the ongoing Pont de Rennes and Brown’s Race Rehabilitation Project.
