Career offender sentenced for selling meth, fentanyl in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines man was sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Andrew Gordon Meyer, 26, was caught by Des Moines police in August 2025 slumped over in his car while it was still running. Officers sais they found cash, cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia inside the car, according to public court documents.

The investigation showed Meyer sold fentanyl and methamphetamine in the Des Moines metro area and had firearms. Meyer was sentenced as a Career Offender under the United States Sentencing Guidelines and has an extensive criminal history that includes weapons offenses and multiple drug-related convictions…
