CLAY COUNTY — A warrant has been issued in Clay County for an Independence man charged with stealing a saw valued at almost $1,250 from the victim’s truck.
According to the probable cause statement, the victim was leaving Plato’s Closet on May 9 and noticed the toolbox in his truck bed was open. After further observation, the victim also noticed his Stihl brand concrete saw was missing.
On May 26, detectives obtained and reviewed video surveillance from Plato’s Closet. The video showed a gray Dodge truck pull up next to the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot and the driver entering the store. Then, once the individual left the store, they were seen stealing the saw from the bed of the victim’s truck and driving away. Detectives then called Plato’s Closet employees to ask if they could help identify the thief. Employees informed them that the suspect’s name was Cameron C. Fuqua and that he sold them three pairs of shoes and also gave them his phone number…
