Shreveport Police were running traffic enforcement when they made a traffic stop that led to the arrest of a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
During the stop, SPD Officers made contact with Jamal Taylor and immediately detected the smell of drugs. As the investigation progressed, officers found a firearm and controlled dangerous substances inside the vehicle.
Further investigation showed that Taylor is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms. His prior convictions include Simple Burglary and two previous convictions for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
