A late-night ride along a Linn County highway ended in serious injury Tuesday when a young Cedar Rapids man was violently thrown from his motorcycle after striking a construction cone, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported at approximately 9:21 p.m. on Highway 100 near S 31st Street. Authorities say the 23-year-old man was traveling westbound when his motorcycle made contact with a construction cone in the roadway. The impact sent him airborne, and he landed hard on the pavement.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the victim by ambulance to a local hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries…
