Memphis duo sentenced for robbing, carjacking construction workers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man and an Oxford, Mississippi man will spend several years in prison for their roles in robbing 10 construction workers at gunpoint and carjacking one of the victims, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of D. Michael Dunavant announced Friday.

Marterrio D. Armstrong, 21, and Jacam’Ron McIntosh, 21, were charged with 10 counts of Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, and Employment of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.

A federal judge sentenced Armstrong to eight and a half years in prison, and McIntosh to 13 years in prison.

On November 24, 2024, a group of nine men was packing their belongings outside of a Bethel Grove home after doing construction work when Armstrong and McIntosh approached them with their guns drawn, authorities mentioned.
