COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — The Connecticut man accused of hitting an officer with his car on a Coventry bike path two summers ago has accepted a plea deal, 12 News has learned.
Ryland Roy, 21, of Thompson, pleaded no contest Thursday to felony assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
In exchange, the other two charges Roy was facing — driving to endanger resulting in physical injury and duty to stop in an accident resulting in serious bodily injury — were dismissed.
